Naniwa 24 Grit Flattening Stone

Naniwa 24 Grit Flattening Stone

Naniwa Header

Ultra-Aggressive for Heavy Work

This is not your run of the mill flattening stone. It is the same size and shape as the A-102 Naniwa 220 Grit Flattening Stone, but it is an extremely coarse 24 grit. Does everyone need a 24 grit flattening stone? No. Of course not. This is for really big flattening jobs. If you need a flattening stone to remove a lot of material as quickly as possible, consider this one.

Soak the flattening stone before use, and soak or wet the water stone as appropriate. Place the water stone on your work surface or hold it in your hand and then rub the Naniwa Flattening Stone over it until the water stone is perfectly flat.

Stone measures 170mm x 55mm x 30mm. If you measure in inches that is roughly 6-11/16" x 2-3/16" x 1-1/8".

Made in Japan.

Q. Do I need a flattening stone this coarse for my water stones?

A. Nope. This stone is really really coarse. If you want to remove as much material as possible as quickly as possible, then this is a good stone to consider.
